Objectives : By the end of the lesson, sts will be able to: - Use some structures containing infinitives without “to” appropriately in contexts. - Do extra exercises containing infinitives without “to” such as putting the verbs in brackets or choosing the best answer. 2. Organization - T checks the number of students and asks Ss to make some class arrangement. II. Checking the old lesson - T calls on one student to go to the board and asks some questions about him/her. - T gives comments and marks III. New lesson 1. Warm- up : Noughts and crosses - T divides the class into 2 groups, instructs them how to play the game. Presentation - T writes some examples on the board and underlines the “bare inf”. Eg: + I can play football. + Let us go to the cinema. + I watched him steal my money - T asks sts to give comments on the use of “bare inf” in these examples. - T reviews the form and use of “bare inf” in the examples quickly. * Form: V * Use: “Bare inf” is used in these cases: + Modal verbs + V Eg: I must go to school now. + had better/ would rather + V Eg: You had better go to bed now. + Let/make + O + V Eg: he makes me do the washing up. + Verbs of perception + O + V Eg: I saw him pass my house. + In positive command statements Eg: Open your book! * Practice (Exercises below) IV. Consolidation - T summarises the main points of the lesson. V. Homework - T asks sts to do the extra exercises in the workbook. VI. Feedback 1. Good points 2.
