- Divide the class into 2 big groups.
- Report the 2 groups to play a game called “Who is the quicker?” 
- Rules:
+ Teacher has 10 cards, each cards has 1 word (bats, kits, speaks, dates, photographs, bags, kids, speeds, days, halves)
+ Each group select 5 sts to stand in a line. Whenever teacher read a word, sts in the 2 lines go as quich as possible to select the right cards and tick in the right column of /s/ or /z/ on the board.
- After teacher finishes 10 words, teacher check sts’ results with the whole class. The group who have more words in right column will be the winner.
- Introduce the 2sounds /s/ & /z/. 
- Listen to understand the rules.
- Try to be the quicker to tick as mamy words as possible in the right column.
- Check with the teacher.
- Listen to identify the 2 sounds.

- Ask sts to look at the words on the board & read after the teacher. 
- Call some to read aloud.
Practice reading sentences:
- Ask sts to look at sentences, listen to teacher’s reading & underline the words ending with 2 sounds above.
- Check whether they are right or not.

- Ask sts to analyse the parts of the speech.

- Ask sts to recall the uses of the three tenses.
- Look at the board & analyse the parts of speech.
- Take note.
- Recall the uses of the three tenses.

@ Exercise 1
- Ask sts to underline the suitable tences.
- Take sentence 1 as an example.
- Ask 2 sts (each in charge of 3 sentences) to go to the board & do the exercise in 3mins while asking other sts to stand up & do sentence by sentence.
- Check sts’ anwers on the board with the whole class.
@ Exercise 2
- Ask sts to work in pairs in 8mins & decide which answers are correct to circle.
- Provide help when necessary:
Ex: 1B (for so long) 
 2C (lately)
- After 8mins, check the answer with the whole class. Give explanation when neccesary.
@ Exercise 1

- 2 sts (each in charge of 3 sentences) to go to the board & do the exercise in 3mins while others stand up & do sentence by sentence.
- Check with the teacher.
