I. OBJECTIVES

 Aims:Educate Ss to appropriate about your hobby.

 - Guides Ss to read the text.

 - Develop such reading micro-skill as scanning for special ideas and skimming for general information.

 - Use the information they have read to discuss and practice the tasks.

 * Lexical items: Words or phrases to related reading.

 * Skills: Reading for gist and for specific information.

II. METHOD: Integrated, mainly communication.

III. TEACHING AIDS: Cassette, tape, textbook, lesson plan.

I. OBJECTIVES

 * Skills: Reading for gist and for specific information.

I. Warm-up 
- Asks Ss to look the picture and answer the questions.
1. What do you do in your free time?
2. What is your favorite hobbies ? 
- Listen and prepare.
- Answer freely.
- Listen.
II. Before you read 
- Gives Ss to read the new words and word phrases then explain the meaning.
+ accomplished: đệm đàn, đệm nhạc
+ accompany: tài hoa, cừ khôi
+ continually: lien tục, không nghớt
+ discarded: loại bỏ
- Asks Ss to read after the teacher some times.
- Asks Ss to make sentences with the above words to check their understanding at home.
- Asks Ss to read the word phrases careful to understand them.
- Calls some Ss to read the words and phrases in front of the class.
- Copy down
+ accomplished: đệm đàn, đệm nhạc
+ accompany: tài hoa, cừ khôi
+ continually: lien tục, không nghớt
+ discarded: loại bỏ
- Read in chorus and individually.
- Read aloud the words
III. While you read
Task 1
* Introduce: The words and phrases in the book all appear in the passage. Use a dictionary to get their meaning. Then translate them into Vietnamese.
- Asks Ss to read the text carefully.
- Plays cassette and ask Ss to listen once time or twice times.
- Asks Ss to read the words in the book carefully to understand them then get their meaning.
- Walks around the class to help when necessary. 
- Asks them to compare their answers with friends 
- Calls Some Ss to read aloud their answers. 
- Gives corrected answer.
Task 1
- The words and phrases in the book all appear in the passage. Use a dictionary to get their meaning. Then translate them into Vietnamese.
- Read the text carefully.
- Work individually.
- Listen once or twice times
- Compare the answers with friends.
- Read aloud the answers.
- Write the correct answers:
1. tài hoa, cừ khôi
2. đệm đàn, đệm nhạc

Task 2
Instruction: Asks Ss to answer the two questions in the book.
Divides class into 4 groups.
Group 1: Answer the question 1,2. 
Group 2: Answer the question 3,4.
Group 3: Answer the question 5,6.
Group 4: Answer the question 7,8.
Group 5: Answer the question 9,1.
Group 6: Answer the question 2,3.
- Asks Ss to read carefully questions to understand them.
- Asks Ss to answer the questions
- Asks Ss to read scan the text again and underline the key words to decide what information they need to find in the text to answer the questions.
- Walks around the class to help when necessary.
- Asks Ss to compare their answers with friends.
- Calls Some Ss to read their answers in front of the class.
- Gives correct answers:
Task 2
- Work in groups.
- Read the passage carefully.
- Read scan the text again and underline the key words to decide what information they need to find in the text to answer the questions.
- Compare the answers with friends.
- Read aloud the answer in front of the class.
- Write the correct answers.
1. His first hobby is playing his guitar.
2. No, he isn’t.
3. Because he is an accomplished guitarist and he is good at accompanying people singing by his guitar.
4. His second hobby is keeping fish.
5. He bought some from the shop and collected some from the rice field near his house.
6. He is an avid stamp collector.
7. He collects them from the discarded
8. Local stamps.
9. He keeps the less common ones inside a small album. The common ones he usually gives away to others or if no one wants. 
IV. After you read
- Asks Ss to work individually talk about your hobby.
- Guides Ss to make some strategies.
- Walks around the class to help Ss when necessary.
- Asks Ss to compare their answers with friends.
- Calls Ss to read the answers in front of the class.
- Remark and give opinions.
