Warm up - Sts discuss some kind of volunteer - T goes around the class to check and help some sts. - Some sts present - Other comment. - T comments and corrects. II. Practice: Ss do all the exercises in the Reading part in the unit 2 of the Workbook. Some ss present T corrects Ss do the handouts: Read the paasage and then decide whether the statements are true or false Each person’s motivation will be unique- butwil often be acombination of the following: Altruism-volunteering for the benefit of others. Most people argue that there are no purely altruistic volunteer- altruitism is acommon mtivation but never the only motivation for sustained commitment to serve ther is always some aspect of personal gain or satisfaction. Quality of life-serving community because service ones own life better- is perhaps the most significant motivation for volunteering. It is often mixed with a good dose of altruism. Include here would be the benefir people get from being with other people, staying active, and above all having a sense of the value of ourselves in society tha tmay not be as clear in other areas of life. Giving back- many peole have in some way benefitted from the work of an organization, or more generally, and volunteer to give back. Everybody has different motivation Altruism is not a general inspiration but never the only enthusiasm for sustained promise to serve. we can have better life as we do service.
