A: When were the 15th Asian Games held?
B: They were held in 2006.
A: Where were the 15th Asian Games held?
B: They were held in Doha, Qatar.
A: How many countries took part in the 15th Asian Games?
B: Forty- five countries did.
A: How many sports events competed in the 15th Asian Games?
B: Thirty- nine sports did.
III. Warm-up: (5 mins)
1. Activity 1: (3 mins)Names of sports
* Expected answer: volleyball, basketball, badminton, football, tennis, weightlifting, boxing, fencing, ping- pong, billiard, long jump, high jump, athletics, swimming, water skiing, water polo, gymnastics,.
2. Activity 2: (2 mins) Questions- answers:
What are the names of the sport?
Have you ever watched sports like these on television?
Which sport(s) do you like best? Why?
* Expected answer:
1. They are high jump, swimming, gymnastics and long jump.
2. Yes, I have/ no, I haven’t
3. I like football because it expresses team spirit.
IV. Pre- listening:
* Pre- teaching vocabulary: (5 mins)
- Come live ['kʌm'laiv](v): truyền hình trực tiếp
 Ex: The Asian Games report is coming live this evening
- Land [lænd](v): hạ cánh, tiếp đất
 Ex: The plane is about to land.
- Freestyle ['fri:stail](n) = free swimming :bơi tự do
- Bar [bɑ:](n): thanh ngang
- Gymnasium [dʒim'neizjəm](n): phòng thể dục dụng cụ
- Gymnast ['dʒimnæst](n): vận động viên thể dục.

V. While-listening:
* Task 1: (3 mins): Predict and choose the answer
* Task 2: (8 mins)
Listen and choose the best answer A, B, C or D for the following sentences.

* Task 3: (10 mins): Listen again and answer the following questions

VI. Post- listening: (9 mins): Summary the text by fill in the missing information

-T divides the whole class into 2 teams (team A and team B)
- The team go to the board and write names of the sports they know as quickly as possible in 2 minutes.
- The team who write a lot of names of sports will be winner.
- T asks Ss to look at the pictures in the textbook p.141
- T asks Ss some questions.
- Ss answer.
- T teaches vocabulary by image and example.
- T reads first.
- The whole class repeats.
- T calls on some Ss to read again.
- T teaches Ss how to pronounce the name of a person and the figures :
+ 9.5 = nine point five + 1.58 = one minute and fifty- eight seconds
- Ss take note vocabulary in their notebook.
- T asks Ss to read carefully the five sentences in their book p.142.
