 A. Aims 
 1. Objectives : By the end of the lesson, sts will be able to:
- Use the non-defining relative clause correctly in related contexts.
- Do exercises related to the relative pronouns and non-defining relative clause.

 B. Procedures

 I. Organization
- T checks the number of students and asks Ss to make some class arrangement.
 II. Checking the old lesson
- T calls on one student to go to the board and asks some questions about him/her.
- T gives comments and marks.
 III. New lesson
 1. Warm- up :

- T divides the class into 2 groups, instructs them how to play the game.

- T gets sts to play the game.

 2. Grammar : 
Non-defining relative clause
a. Presentation
- T writes the example about the relative clause on the board and asks sts to comment on them.
Eg: - Tan Yen post office, which was built a long time ago, is very large.
- T elicits the comments from sts and makes clear that:
=> Non-defining relative clause:lµ mÖnh ®Ò kh«ng thùc sù cÇn thiÕt ë trong c©u. Nã chØ cung cÊp thªm th«ng tin phô cho danh tõ v× thÕ ta cã thÓ bá mµ c©u vÉn râ nghÜa. M§QH kh«ng x¸c ®Þnh th­êng ®øng sau dÊu phÈy. Ta kh«ng sö dông “that” trong mÖnh ®Ò nµy. Ta sö dông mÖnh ®Ò quan hÖ kh«ng x¸c ®Þnh khi danh tõ ®øng tr­íc ®· x¸c ®Þnh.
- T gets sts to make more examples like that.
Eg: Darwin, who developed the theory of evolution, is famous throughout the world.
b. Practice
- T distributes sts some handouts and asks them to combine the sentences.
1. Checking accounts are very common now. 
The checking accounts 
require a minimum balance.
2. Philip bought a camera. The camera has 
three lenses.
3. Frank is the man. We are going to 
nominate Frank for the office in the school.
4. She is the woman. I wrote to her.
5. They are the people. I was talking about them.
6. John received a scholarship. John’s grades are the highest in the school.
7. That is the dog. I was afraid of it.
8. Mr Cox is the manager. I am phoning for him.
9. That is the tunnel. We went through it.
10. She is the lady. He argued with her.
- T gets sts to share their answers.
- T checks and gives final comments.
IV. Consolidation
- T summarizes the main points of 
the lesson by asking the question.
How to combine a sentence by using the relative pronoun.
 V. Homework
- T asks sts to do the extra exercises in the workbook.
