B. PROCEDURES
Date of preparation: Period: 13 Lesson 13: conditional sentence type 1,2 and 3 A. Aims 1. Objectives : By the end of the lesson, sts will be able to: - Remember the form and use of the conditional sentence type 1,2 and 3. - Use the conditional sentence type 1,2 and 3 in writing exercises and everyday conversations. 2. Teaching aids: - blackboard, chalk, handouts - textbook, lesson plan B. Procedures Teacher’s activities Time Students’ activities I. Organization - T checks the number of students and asks Ss to make some class arrangement. II. Checking the old lesson - T calls on one student to go to the board and asks some questions about him/her. - T gives comments and marks. III. New lesson 1. Warm- up : Noughts and crosses - T divides the class into 2 groups, instructs them how to play the game. if meet visit go was hot told known come - T gets sts to play the game. - T declares the winner 2. Grammar : Conditional sentences type 1, 2 and 3 a. Presentation * Conditional sentence type 1 - T reviews the form and the use of conditional sentence type 1 - T makes certain that Ss understand the main clause and if clause in the sentence. - T demonstrates by analyzing the following example: If I have enough money, I will go to Hue for holiday. If clause main clause + Form: if clause main clause present simple future simple + Use: express a condition which is true at present and in the future. * Conditional sentence type 2 - T reviews the form and the use of conditional sentence type 2 + Form: main clause if clause would s + could + v might past simple tense + Use: used to give an impossible condition at present or in the future - T makes certain that Ss understand the main clause and if clause in the sentence. - T demonstrates by analyzing the following example: Eg: I have no money now. => If I had some, I would lend you. If clause main clause * Conditional sentence type 3 + Form Main clause If clause would S + could + have + pp If + S +had +pp might + Use: Dùng để diễn tả một điều kiện hay một khả năng không có thực ở trong quá khứ. Eg: If I had had money, I would have bought that car. ( In fact I didn’t have money) b. Practice - T distributes sts some handouts and asks them to put the verb in the brackets into correct form. - T gets sts to share their answers. - T checks and gives final comments. IV. Consolidation - T summarizes the main points of the lesson by asking the question. How to change a direct sentence into a reported one with infinitive? V.
