 - Use some structures containing infinitives with “to” appropriately in contexts. - Do extra exercises containing infinitives with “to” such as putting the verbs

in brackets or choosing the best answer.

 2. Teaching aids:

 - blackboard, chalk, handouts

 - textbook, lesson plan

Lesson 1: Infinitives with “to”
 A. Aims 
 1. Objectives : By the end of the lesson, sts will be able to:

 I. Organization
- T checks the number of students and asks Ss to make some class arrangement.
 II. Checking the old lesson
- T calls on one student to go to the board and asks some questions about him/her.
- T gives comments and marks
 III. New lesson

- T divides the class into 2 groups, instructs them how to play the game.

 2. Grammar : To infinitive
 a. Presentation
- T writes some examples on the board and underlines the “to inf”.
Eg: + I have some letters to write.
 + She wants to meet you.
 + He agrees to love me.
 + My would like to go to the zoo.
- T asks sts to give comments on the use of “to inf” in these examples. 
- T reviews the form and use of “to inf” in the examples quickly.
* Form: To V
* Use: “To inf” is used in these cases:
+ V + to V
Eg: She agreed to love me.
+ V + what/where/ when.... + to V
Eg: I know what to do .
+ V + O + to V
Eg: She asks me to do this work.
+ adj (of sb/for sb) + to V
Eg: It’s nice to meet you.
+ too adj + to V/ adj enough + to V
Eg: She is too young to go to school
+ N + to V
Eg: She goes to school to learn.
 b. Practice (Exercise below)
 IV. Consolidation
- T summarises the main points of 
the lesson.

- T asks sts to do the extra exercises in the workbook.

 Practice: Put the verbs in brackets into correct forms
	1. My wife wanted me (call) at the butcher’s on my way home.

	3. He isn’t strong enough (move) the fridge to the other corner of the kitchen.
	4. It would be not good (ask) Tom (do) that work.
	5. They decided (not go) to the cinema.
	6. She seemed (expect) me (do) it.
	7. I try (persuade) him (agree) with me.
	8. Did you advise him (go) to the police?
	9. It isn’t good for children (eat) too many sweets.
	10. It’s too cold for us (go) out. 
	11. Ask him (come) in, don’t keep him standing at the door.
	12. I wish (meet) the manager.
