 - Use the information they have listen to for other communicative tasks. Lexical items: Words and phrases related to the listening.

II. METHOD: Integrated, mainly communicative.

III. TEACHING AIDS: Textbook, cassette tapes, lesson plan.

I. Objectives

Warm-up	(5 minutes)
- Asks Ss to answer some questions.
1.Have you ever took part in a Marathon in your school/ countryside?
2.How many people were there participate?
3.What did they organize on month ?
- Introduce the new lesson about the Boston Marathon.
- Listen and prepare answers.
- Answer free.
- Listen and prepare the new lesson.
Before you Listen:
* Discuss and saying about the picture in the textbook.
- Asks Ss to work in pairs. Ask and answer the following questions.
- Guides Ss to make some strategies and answer the questions
1.What is the Boston Marathon?
2.Who do you think can take part in the Boston race?
- Asks Ss to read the questions carefully to appropriate them.
- Walks around the class to help when necessary.
- Asks Ss to compare their answers with friends.
- Calls some Ss to practice the following pairs in front of the class.
- Remark and give correct answers:
*Listen and repeat:
- Guides Ss to read words and explain the meaning.
- Asks Ss to read in chorus and individual
- Calls some Ss to practice them in front of the class.
- Gets Ss to make sentences with some important words. (race, athletic, association)
Before you Listen:
- Work in pairs.
- Listen to some strategies and answer the questions.
- Read the questions carefully to appropriate them.
- Compare the answers with friends.
- Practice the following pairs in front of the class.
- Write the correct answers:
1.It is the oldest road race in the United States. It is held every year in the middle of April.
2.Men and women can take part in the Boston Marathon.
- Compare with T’s answers.
- Copy down.
- Read in chorus and individual.
- Make sentences with some important words.
While you Listen
Task 1
* Instruction: You are going to listen to the dialogue about the Boston Marathon. Listen and answer True or False questions. Put a tick in the appropriate box.
- Guides Ss to listen to some strategies.
- Asks Ss to read carefully sentences to understand the contents in task 1.
- Read/Play the tape the first.
- Checks Ss to do the sentences.
- Read/Play the tape the second.
- Checks Ss to do the sentences.
- Listen to the tape last time and listen everyone sentence to know corrected information. 
- Asks Ss to compare their answers with friends .
- Walks around the class to help when necessary.
- Calls Ss to answer the sentences in front of the class.
- Corrected answers.

- Listen to the dialogue about the Boston Marathon. Listen and answer True or False questions. Put a tick in the appropriate box.

- Feedbacks and gives correct answers.

- Try to answer the questions with the things they remember from the previous times of listening.
- Listen to the tape again and answer the questions.
- Listen the tape last times and corrected information. 
- Compare the answers with friends.
- Practice in pairs in front of the class.

- Asks Ss to work in group and talk about a famous Vietnamese runner or spostsman/ spostswoman.
- Devide 4 groups. Each group will prepare a short biography of a famous runner or spostsman/ spostswoman.
- Guides Ss to make some strategies.
- Asks Ss to discuss and write handout.
- Walks around the class to help when necessary.
- Asks Ss to compare the writing about a famous Vietnamese runner.
Calls representative to read it in front of the class.
- Remarks and check the errors and corrective feedback.
Homework
- Asks Ss write about a competition Boston Marathon (about 50 words)
- Asks Ss to prepare the new lesson.
After you Listen
- Work in groups and talk about a famous Vietnamese runner or spostsman/ spostswoman.
- Discuss and write handout.
- Compare the writing about a famous Vietnamese runner.
