1.Warm-up : (6 minutes)
- Hang some pictures on the board.
- Asks some questions.
1.Who are they?
2.Where are they?
3.What are they doing?
4.Do they get paid for their work?
* Introduce the new lesson.
VOUNTEER WORK
- Students’ answers may vary.
1.They are college Ss/ high school Ss office workers.
2.They are at a remote village.
3.They are giving classes to children/ repairing roads house/ giving medical services.
4.No, they are doing somrthing without having any kinds of pament so we can say that they are doing VOUNTEER WORK.
- Listen.
2.Before you read: (10 minutes)
* Discussing the picture and saying.
- Asks the whole to look at the picture and ask them some questions.
1.What is the old woman doing in the picture?
2.What does this mean by “ little moments Big Magic’’?
3.What does the picture tell you?
- Asks Ss to answer the questions.
- Suggested answer.
- Walks around the class to help when necessary.
- Asks Ss to compare answers with friends.
- Calls some Ss to read answer in front of the class.

- Give some new words and explain the meaning on the board.

3.While you read
Setting the scene.
you are going to read a passage about volunteer work while you rea reading, do the tasks in the textbook.
Task 1: (5 minutes)
* Introduce: Fill each blank with one part of speech of the word “volunteer’’.
- Guides Ss to use stragies.
- Asks Ss to read carefully 4 sentences to understand them.
- Plays cassette and ask Ss to listen once time.
- Asks Ss to read silently and do task 1
- Asks them to underline the key words to decide what information they need to find in the text.
- Plays cassette and ask Ss to listen twice times.
- Asks Ss to complete the sentences and discuss with a partner.
- Suggested answer.
- Walks around the class to help when necessary.
- Asks them to compare their answers with friends 
- Calls Some Ss to write and read their answers. Then ask them to explain their choices.
- Gives corrected answer.
While you read
- Listen and prepare doing tasks.
Task 1
- Listen and complete each of the following sentences
- Work individual
- Listen once and twice times
- Compare answers with friends.

Task 2: (8 minutes)
* Introduce: You are to read the passage and choose the best answer from A,B,C or D for each of the following sentences.
- Guides Ss to use some stragies to do the task.
- Asks Ss to read carefully sentences to understand them to choose the best answer.
- Asks Ss to listen to text again and work individual. Then discuss the following couples
- Suggested answers:
- Walk around the class to help when necessary.
- Asks Ss to compare their answers with friends.
- Calls Some Ss to read their answers.
- Feedbacks and gives correct answers.
Task 2
- Listen and prepare doing task.
- Work individual.
- Listen to text again.
- Compare answers with friends

2.D(line 3-4, paragraph 2)
3.B(line 3-4, paragraph 4)
4.D(last paragraph 2)
5.B(A: too general; C and D: do not cover the whole text)

* Introduce: You are going to answr the questions.
- Guides Ss to use some stragies to do the task.
- Asks Ss to read carefully questions to understand them.
- Asks Ss to listen to text again and work in group. Then discuss the following couples

2.They give care and comfort to them and help them overcome their difficultes.
3.During summer vacations, they volunteer to work in remote or mountainous areas.
