Lexical items : - proposal - in charge - expenses - responsible - objective Structures : - Preparations for the trip should be made as follow. - With the aim to help., all the members are encouraged to join Teaching aids: - textbook - handouts - chalk and board Techniques : writing-based Procedures : State/time Teacher’s and students’ activities Blackboard Materials 1. warm-up (7’) Games: cut – up sentences - give each Ss a copy of the task below - Put Ss into groups - Set a time limit of 4 minutes - with the clues give, Ss work out the word in shaded squares by completing the word grid - Ask groups to hand in their word grid - A ward one point for each correct word from 1-8, and five extra points for the correct word in shaded squares . - go over the answers with the whole class. Transition: In today’s writing section, we’ll learn how to make a proposal for Sth. - write down on the board: Expected answers: 1 popular 2. record 3. resolution 4. whisper 5. joke 6. show 7. holiday. 8 sleigh. Pre- writing (10’) Presenting outline: - elicit what to include in a proposal - Have Ss study the notes for a proposal - go through the notes with the whole class and give explanations for each category. Assigning duty. - be in charge of sth / V-ing - take responsibility for sth - will + V ( bare-Inf) Chalk and board 3. while-writing (20’) Activity 1: table completion - arrange Ss to work in small groups. - give each group a handout of a thank-you letter - tell Ss that three are some sentences that do not belong to the letter and ask them to read and find out which sentences do not belong. - call the groups to read their sentences aloud and check with the class. Activity 2: write it up - put Ss into pairs and give out handouts - tell Ss that the two letters are mixed up, and ask them to read the letter, sort out the sentences that do not belong and move them to their correct places in their letter. - go over the answers with the class . handouts handouts 4. Post-writing (10’) Peer correction - Ask Sts to work in group of 5, deliver each group 5 pieces of writings and tell them to read and correct their friends’ narratives. - Tell each group to choose the best piece of writing, and the most special story. - Go around to control and give help if necessary. - Call a St. from each group to read their group’s best writing, and ask Sts to give comments.
