- T sticks the posters of jumbled words on the board
- T gives instruction: “Now, I have five words here but they don’t have the correct order and you have to rearrange them”.
- T asks ss to work in pairs in 1 minute
- T calls some ss to write the answer on the board.
- T checks and gives the correct answers.
- T underlines the sounds /str/, /skr/ and /skw/ and models one time for ss to repeat.

II. PRESENTATION
PRONUNCIATION
T Listen and repeat: 
 /str/	/skr/	/skw/
 Street	Scream 	Square

T Practise reading aloud these sentences:
1. These was a strong man on the street at night.
2. He was holding an ice-cream in one hand, and a rubber doll in the other hand.
3. The man was eating the ice-cream, squeezing the doll and it was squeaking.
4. The man was screaming while walking to the square.
- T models all sounds in words one or two times and emphasizes the differences between them.
- T speaks each column and asks ss to repeat.
- T provides some words having these sounds.
- Ss listen and take note the sounds.
- T models the dialogue one time.
- T asks ss work in pair to practice in 2 minutes.
- T call on one opened pair and one closed pair read the passage.
- T listens ss, takes notes and corrects the mistakes if having.

- Relative clauses

This is the novel. Shakespeare wrote this novel.
à This is the novel which/that Shakespeare wrote.
à This is the novel Shakespeare wrote.
Ex 2: The young man is very tall. I sat next to him on the bus yesterday
à The young man whom/who/that I sat next to on the bus yesterday is very tall.
à The young man next to whom I sat on the bus yesterday is very tall.
à The young man I sat next to him on the bus yesterday is very tall.
NOT: The young man I sat on the bus yesterday is very tall.
Form:
(S+V)N + whom/who/that/which + S +V 
(S+V)N + S +V 
Y Relative pronouns “who, whom, which, that” can be omitted when they are objects in the sentences and there is no preposition in front of it.
Ex 3: The movie “Toy Story 3” is very interesting. I like it most.
à The movie “Toy Story 3”, which I like most, is very interesting
NOT: The movie “Toy Story 3” I like most, is very interesting
Y We can’t omit the relative pronouns if they are in a non-defining relative clause.
Exercise 1: Tick (ü) the sentences in which the relative pronoun can be omitted
1. Here is the beach which is the safest for swimmers.

Exercise 2: Combine the following sentences, using a relative clause, and put a relative pronoun in bracket ( ) if it can be omitted.
Ex: This is the novel. Shakespeare wrote this novel.
à This is the novel (which/that) Shakespeare wrote.
1. The dictionary is very useful. It has 250.000 words.
2. I didn’t like the man. We met him yesterday.
3. The bed is very smooth. I like to sleep in it.
4. This is Mary. She is my sister in law
5. The church is 200 years old. Our class visited it
