1.Warm-up
- Close the book.
- Asks some questions.
Can you tell me about myself?
Talk about best friend.
Who is your best friend?
How did you meet him/her?
How long have you known each other?
What qualities do you admire in your best friend?
- Instruction the new lesson.

I’m Le and I’m a tenth grade student. I’m Sixteen years old. I live in Na Hang town with my family. I want to learn English because it is very interesting.
My best friend is Le.
I met her when I moved Na Hang to TQ.
I have known for two year.
I admire a best friend unselfishness.
- Listen.
2. Before you listen
- Open the book and Listen and repeat.
- Guides Ss to read the new words and meaning
- Listen and repeat:
apartment building, guitarist, sense of humor, go through a rough time.
- Gets Ss to make sentences with the words
- Write the words and read in chorus then individual.
3. While you listen
* Instruction: You are going to listen to Lan and Long talk about their best friends. Listen and decide whether the statements are true or false.
Task 1
- Instructs them to use some strategies:
- Read through the statements to understand them and underline key words. 
- Listen to the tape and pay attention to the key words.
- Decide whether the statements are true or false based on what you can hear.
- Plays the tape once for Ss to do the tape.
- Ask Ss for Ss’ answer and write them on the board.
- Plays the tape the second time for Ss to check their answer.
- Asks Ss to work in groups of 4 to compare their answer.
- Walk around the class and help when necessary.
- Check Ss’ answer by calling some Ss and asks Ss to explain their answer.
- Give correct answer.

Task 2
Instruction: You are going to listen to the tape again and find the table in the book with notes.
- Listen to the tape again to do the task and ask them to try to fill the table with the things they remember from the previous times of listening.
- Walk around the class and help when necessary.
- After playing the tape, Gets Ss to work in pair and check their answer.
- Calls some Ss to give answers. 
- Suggested answer.
- Listen and prepare listening again.
- Individual work.

Lan: 
+ They used to live in the same apartment building in HN.
+ Lan went on a holiday in Do Son and Ha went there to help her.
- Ha’s very friendly.
- Ha’s sociable. She’s got many friends in Do Son and she introduced Lan around.
Long:
+ They met in college.
+ Minh played the guitar, and Long was a singer.
+ They worked together.
- Minh has a sense of humor.
- Minh likes to go to plays and movies.
- Minh is a good listener.
- Minh is friendly and helpful.
4. After you listen 
Gets Ss to work in pairs to talk about Ha has been Lan’s best friend and how Minh has been Long’s best friend.
- Walk around and help when necessary.
- Call some Ss to practice in pair.
- Listen.
- Work in pair
5. Homework
- In not more than 100 words write about how you and your friend has become best friends.
- Asks Ss to prepare writing next period.
- Write about how you and your friend has become best friends.
- Prepare writing next period.
