- Use these structures to solve communicative tasks.

Grammar
Infinitive and Gerund:
1. Infinitive 
- Explain to + infinitive.
Structure: It/S + to be + adj + to infinitive.
- Guide Ss to make sentences.
Example: It is fun to go to the theatre.
Verb + infinitive
agree, refuse, promise, threaten, offer, attempt, manage, fail, decide, plan, arrange, hope, appear, seem, pretend, afford, forget, learn, dare, tend.
- Guide Ss to make sentences.
Ex: He pretended not to see me as he passed me in the street.
He decided to study another foreign language.
What/ where/ how + to infinitive
ask, decide, know, remember, forget, explain, understand
- Guide Ss to make sentences.
Ex: He explained how to change the wheel of car.
Verb + object + verb.
ask, want, expect, help, mean=(intend), would like, would prefer, tell, order, remind, warn, force, invite, enable, teach(how), persuade= get, advise, recommend, encourage, allow, permit.

Ex: I asked him to see the manager.
 The manager doesn’t allow us to smoke in the office.
Grammar
Infinitive and Gerund:
1. Infinitive
- Write and put sentences.
1. I’m glad to meet you again.
2. He is happy to visit his family in summer again.
- Make sentence.
1. He refused to lend me any money.
2. I arranged to play tennis tomorrow afternoon.
3. One day I hope to have enough money to travel around the world.
- Make sentence.

2.Gerund
- Explain gerund.
Verb + gerund
acknowledge, can’t help, delay, discuss, escape, forgive, keep, postpone, propose, report, suggest, admit, can’t stand, deny, dislike, explain, give up, mention, practice, quit, resent, support, appreciate, celebrate, detest, endure, feel like, imagine, mind, prevent, recall, resist, tolerate, avoid, consider, discontinue, enjoy, finish, justify, miss, prohibit, recommend, risk, understand

Subject
Ex: Smoking is bad for your health.
Object (object of a verb)
They consider changing the schedule of the classes.
Preposition + gerund.
Ex: His child thinks about changing his job.
I’m not very good at learning English.
to be (interesting, good at, fed up with, excited about, fond of, afraid of, bored with), in spite of, instead of, advantage of +ving.
 Verb + preposition + ing.
Ex: We talk about going to Ha Noi.
succeed in, feel like, think about/of, dream of, (dis)approve of, look forward to, insist on, decide again, apolgise for + v-ing.
Verb + object + p + V-ing
accuse, suspect, congratulate, prevent, stop, thank, forgive, warn.
Ex: They accused me of telling lies.
Expression + v-ing.
It’s no use/It’s no good..(thật vô ích)
There’s no point in (chẳng ích lợi gì, vô ích)
It’s (not) worth(thật Ko đáng)
Have difficulty(gặp khó khăn)
waste of money/time(tốn tiền/ mất thì giờ/ vô ích)
spend/waste time(dành, bỏ ra, lãng phí thời gian)
Ex: I spent hours trying to repair the clock.
Verb + to infinitive/ Gerund.
begin, hate, prefer, can’t stand, intend,remember, continue, like, start, gorget, love, stop, allow, permit, try
Ex: He regents shouting at her when she was sick.
 He regents to shout at her when she was sick.
