- Ask students close the book
-Ask students to answers some questions:
-Lead in : today we are learn about world population
Pre - read : (7 minutes)
- Asks students work in pairs and look at two pictures on the book and discuss the questions
- Goes around and help if necessary 
-Asks students to give the answers
- Listen to students and correct pronunciation and grammar if necessary 
While - read : (15 minutes)
- Ask students to look through the passage and read in silence
- Help students read the passage
- Explain pronunciation and meaning of new words which appear in the passage
Task 2: 
-Ask students to read the passage again then answer the questions
- Ask students to answer the following questions
- Ask students look through the passages then try to answer the questions in right way
- Let them work in pairs
- Help students if necessary

- Ask students to work in groups to discuss find out some advantages and some disadvantages of the big family

 Warm Up ( 5’)ives the picture and asks them two questions 
What can you see in the picture ? in the picture 1,the earth looks like an old ,tired man with too many people on his head ,shoulders and arms .
What does the picture tell you ? The picture tells us that the earth may not properly accommodate too many people .we are facing overpopulation 
Today we ‘ll study how to talk about the causes of population explosion ,problems of population booms and solutions to these problems

Pre-speaking ( 12’)
Before letting sts do the task, asks them to read through the causes provided on page 83 
- makes sure that sts understand these statements 
- gets sts to work in pairs to order the causes and reminds them to explain their order 
-goes around to observe and provides help 
- calls on some pairs to present their order and asks other pairs if they agree or disagree with their friends’ answers 
While- speaking ( 15’)
- asks sts to read the useful language on page 83 
- reminds sts that they should match the words /phrases on the left with the words /phrases on the right 
Now sts work in pairs to list the problems of poor and overpopulated countries .T may ask them to think of other problems not mentioned in the book 
- calls on some pairs to perform their conversations,using the structures and vocabulary they have learned in front of the class 
- corrects 
- asks sts to work in groups to do the task

Post-speaking : (10 minutes)

You are going to put the following causes to overpopulation in order of importance and explain your decision 
People are not properly educated .
People are not aware of population explosion .
Fewer children die at birth .
Many people believe that having a large family is a form of insurance .
People believe that having many children means happiness .
Religion doesn’t permit people to have fewer children 
Model : 
A: It says in the newspaper that the world population is increasing so fast .what do you think is the main cause of the population explosion ? 
B: I think it’s because people are not properly educated so they feel free to have more children 
A: I quite agree with you 
B: that’s it ,so the government has to do more to control the growth of population 
II/ TASK 2 : 
You are going to work in pairs to list the problems facing poor and overpopulated countries 
Model : 
A: what can be problems that face poor and overpopulated countries? 
B: I think people living there have bad living conditions and not enough food to eat .There is also a lack of schools and hospitals .
A: And what’s more there aren’t enough jobs for everyone .
B: Their lives are terrible and their children are often illiterate 
III/ TASk 3 : (5’-7’)
Now you work in groups to find out the solutions to the problems of overpopulation
Model : Overpopulation is really a problem that faces poor and overpopulated countries .It brings about a lot of results that worry all of us .First of all people living there often have bad living conditions .Also ,there aren’t enough jobs for everyone so their lives are terrible and their children are often illiterate . 
IV/ TASK 4: (8’-10’)
Now you are going to work in groups to talk about the problems of overpopulation and offer solutions ,using the results of task 2 and task 3
Model : 
A: What should the government do to control the growth of population ?
B: I think they should raise their people’s awareness of the problem of overpopulation /problem caused by overpopulation 
A: That sounds good but what do they do exactly ?
B: They should carry out population education programs and tell them about family planning
