1. Lead-in: 
-Shows some pictures and asks:

-Brainstorming: Asks students to work in groups to make a list of the causes of the population explosion.
-Encourages students to contribute the ideas that they see in the country.
-Gathers ideas from groups and makes necessary comments.
2. Pre-practice: 
-Presents some new words:

-Checks vocabulary: Rub out and remember.
3.Controlled-practice:
-Asks students to do Task 1: Below are some of the causes of population explosion. Put them in order of importance and explain why.
-Tells students to work in pairs to find out the answers.
-Calls some students to read their answers.
-Corrects their mistakes.
*Suggested answers:
1.People are not properly educated.
2.People are not aware of population explosion.
3.Fewer children die at birth.
4.Many people believe that having a large family is a form of insurance.
5.People believe that having many children means happiness.
6.Religion doesn’t permit people to have fewer children.
-Asks students to do task 2:
- Work in pairs to list the problems facing poor and overpopulated countries then report their results to the class.
-Calls some students to present the difficulties facing overpopulated countries before the class.
*Answers:
1.People living there have bad living conditions.
2.There is not enough food to eat.
3.There is also a lack of schools and hospitals.
4.There aern’t enough jobs for everyone.
5.There lives are terrible and their children are often illiterate.
-Provides students with the model then asks students to use it to make their reports.
*Model: Overpopulation is really a problem that faces poor and overpopulated countries. It brings about a lot of results that worry everyone of us. First of all  . Also  . In addition to that  . Moreover  . Next  . Finally 
-Asks students to present their reports before the class.
-Corrects their answers.
-Asks students to do task 3: 
Work in groups to work out the solutions to the problems of overpopulation. Report your resuls to the class.
-Calls some students to present their solutions to the problems of overpopulation.

1.Everybody should be aware of the problems of overpopulation.
2.The government should have reward and punishment policies.
3.People should carry out population education programs and family planning program.
4.Women should use birth control methods.
-Asks students to use these ideas to report their results to the class.

- Talk about the problems of overpopulation and offer solutions, using the results of Tasks 2 and 3.
