3. the first university of VN was established here under the name Quoc TU Giam. A lot of talented men in VN were trained during fuedal time in Quoc Tu Giam. In 1482, Van Mieu became a place to memorize the most brilliant scholars of the country. 
4. Their names, places of birth and achievements were engraved on stone stelae, which were carried by giant tortoises
