Do writing as group work in class ( The good help the weak) TEACHING PROCEDURES: New lesson (45mn) TEACHER’S ACTIVITIES STUDENTS’ ACTIVITIES CONTENT WARM UP: (3’) T shows pictures of some films and asks Ss to guess the name and the kind of films. T asks Ss some questions about the film Titanic (what do you know about this film? How many character does it have?..) Introducing the lesson: Today we will study how to write the description of a film basing on the instructions we figure out from reading the description of the film Titanic in the text book. Look at the pictures and tell the name and the kind of films. Look at the pictures and then tell what the name of the films and what kind of films we are seeing. 1.Twilight– Horror film. 2. Shaun the sheep– Cartoon. 3. Dong mau anh hung – Action film. 4. Titanic – Love story film. II. PRE- WRITING: (7’) TEACHING VOCABULARY: T uses pictures, examples, explanation to give the meaning of new words. T asks Ss to repeat the new words chorally and individually. T uses back chaining technique. Copy new words into their paper. It is based on the true story of the Titanic disaster that occurred in 1912. 6. Who are the main characters? They are Jack Dawson and Rose DeWitt Bukater. 7. What do you know about the characters? Jack Dawson is a young and generous adventurer and saves Rose DeWitt Bukater from killing herself, and although she is already engaged, the two fall in love. 8. Work in groups, write description of films they like best on the papers using the instructions they have just learnt Ss present their writing in front of class. TASK 3.
