Procedure STAGES TEACHER’S ACTIVITIES STUDENTS’ ACTIVITIES Before you listen (7 mins) Brainstorming T writes the word “HOBBY” on the board. T asks Ss to call names of their hobbies. T asks Ss: Do you think students in foreign countries have the same hobbies. If not, what are their hobbies? T leads in task 1(part b- page 166). - Ss answer teacher’s questions. - The whole class - Ss listen to teacher. While- listening (20 mins) After you listen (10 mins) Part b) - T plays the tape once. - T asks Ss to take note anything they think it is important and answer the question given. - T invites 2 Ss to write their answer on the board. - T checks 2 students’ answers with the whole class. - If Ss still confuse, T will play the tape again, and pause when necessary. * Answers: Andrew likes gardening, being with friends, going to the park with his family, lying on the sofa and listening to music Andrew doesn’t like doing house-work, working far from home. Part c) Role Play - T asks Ss to role play + Situation: A: Next month you will take part in a beauty contest, but now you are a little bit overweight. Call B- a specialist in Health Care Center and ask her/him advices. B: You are a specialist in Health Care Center. Ask A about her problem and give her advices. - T gives Ss three minutes to prepare in pairs. - T walks around to give a help. - T calls one pair to present in front of class. Listen text 2 and answer questions - T delivers handouts. - T plays the tape once. - T asks the whole class to speak out their answer to each question and give the correct answers.
