Before you listen 7’ -gives students some pictures about natural resources and asks them What kinds of energy do these pictures refer to? -asks students to discuss the question on page 128. -“list some of the things you use energy for in your house”. -goes around to listen after few minutes ,elicits the answers from different groups. -answer :natural resources Work in group of 3 or 4 students. 3.While you listen (26’) 15’ 11’ -Task 1:Listen and complete the sentences by circling the letter A,B,C,D. -asks students to read the questions and identify the key word in each question. For example, in question 1 we have the key word is “ecology”. 2.natural resources (consist) 3.renewable 4.grass for animals 5.coal -explains new words if necessary. -gets students to guess the answer . -plays the tape once and asks students do do the task . - plays the tape 2-3 times for them to catch, if many students can not answer the questions. Answer: 1.D.human beings and their environment 2.C.all natural resources 3.D.replaced quickly 4.A.renewable 5.B.millions of years Task 2:listen again to the last part of the talk and write in the missing words. -gives students some minutes to guess the missing words. -plays the tape again for students to listen and answer the questions(encourages them to take note of what they hear . -Gets students to check their answers with a partner and then with the whole class. -goes around and hears the students’ answers. -plays the tape again and pauses at difficult points if many students can not answer.
