Warm up : Matching: Match the pictures and the kinds of parties. * The parties: Farewell party / garden party / house warming party / birthday party / wedding party / New year’s party. II. While- Speaking : * Task 2 : Discussion What do you think of when you want to plan a party? * Suggested answer : These are the first steps in planning a party: Choose a place to hold the party (at home or restaurant) Set the number of guests (who to invite) Determine how much you can spend (budget) Decide food and drink you want to serve at the party. Send the invitation cards (give the time, date, address, directions, yours phone number.) Plan plenty of short game. Have extra treats (some unexpected might show up) * Task 3 : Role-play Think of the party you are going to plan: We are planning a party. Let’s talk about what each of us will do to prepare for it. Let’s have a discussion about your party next Saturday. Why don’t you have a surprised party? Why don’t we hire the ground floor of a bar and we could get the band in? Why don’t we make our own food? Shall we have some music? How about? That’s a nice idea. IV. Post-Speaking: * Task 3: Ask ss to stand up and play role. VI.
