Objectives

Warm-up 7(mins) 
 - T greets the class:
 + Nice to meet you and How are you today?
 + Who’s absent today?
 + What have you learned in previous lesson?
-T: The whole class, look at these things and answer some my questions:
+ What is this?- USB
+ What can I do with it? – Store information or data.
- What is this?+ CD- Rom
- What can I do with it?+ It contain information/data.
- T: so, What do these devices relate to?
- T: You will see these words in our lesson. And now, we start our lesson today:

- Greet teacher and answer the questions.
-Listen to their teacher’s requirement.
- Answer their teacher’s questions.
- Answer the teacher’s questions, and then find out the names of the things.
- Answer their teacher’s question.
- Listen to the teacher and write the title of the lesson on their notebook.
New lesson 
 Word Study
- T: the whole class, do you want to know more words in computer?
- T: if yes, let’s do practice 1 and you will know more words in computer.
Practice 1: Match the pictures with the words or phrases. The first one has been done for you (10 ins)
- T asks one student to read and explain the requirement.
- T asks Sts to look through the words on page 114 and asks the new words if they have.
- New words:
+ USB (Universal Serial Bus) drive is a data memory storage device. It is typically small, lightweight, removable and rewritable.
+ A floppy disk is a data storage device that is composed of a disk of thin, flexible (floppy) magnetic storage medium encased in a square or rectangular plastic shell.
+ CD-ROM (Compact Disc read-only memory) is a Compact Disc that contains data accessibly by a computer.
+ A hard copy is a permanent reproduction, on any media suitable for direct use by a person (in particular paper, of displayed or transmitted data.
+ Web cam (Web camera) is a real-time camera (usually, though not always, a video, camera) whose images can be accessed using the World wide Web, instant messaging, or a PC video calling application.
- T: you have known some words, now let’s do some tasks.
- T asks Sts to do the task in pairs.
- T spends 2 mins for sts to discuss with their partners.
- T goes around the class to observe and provides help if necessary.
- When time is up, T calls on some Ss to give their answers in front of the class.

- T: to type, to listen, to play, to chat, to check are verbs often use in computer. To use these words correctly, Let’s do task 2:
Practice 2: Fill each blank with one of the following verbs. Some verbs are suitable for more than one blank (10 mins)
- T calls one student to read and explain the requirement.
- T guides Sts how to do this exercise:
+ Read through all these words and sentences.
+ Make sure that you understand all these sentences and words.
+ Try to fill each blank.
- T asks Sts to work in pairs and fill each blank with one of the verbs.
- T spends 2 mins for Sts to fill in the blank.
- T goes around the class to observe and provide help if necessary.
- When time is up, T calls on some Ss to give their answers in front of the class.
- Compare the answers which are written on the board.

Practice 3: Match a sentence in column A with its response in column B (5 mins)
Telephone language
- T asks Sts to read through all the statements and asks T if they have any new words.
- T asks Sts to work in pairs and match the sentence in A with B.
- Call on some Ss to practice their sentences in front of the class.
- Feedback and give correct answers.

- T: I have some sheets of papers, one student comes and takes some of the sheet of paper, and then she/he has to describe this word. Others have to guess this word.

- T: pay attention that you can do anything to make your friends understand but not speak out these words.

+ Learn all the use of words in computing and telephoning by heart.
+Prepare the rest part of Language Focus 2: pronouns and indirect speech with conditional sentences.
