For many people the language of the Internet is English. “World, Wide, Wed: Three English Words” was the name of an article by Michael Specter in New York Times a few years ago. The article went on to say: “If you want to take full advantages of the Internet, there is only one real way to do it: learn English.”
In general, it is not difficult to learn to use Internet services. But although Internet services are rather easy to use, you will have considerable difficulties if you are not familiar with English. In fact, knowledge of English is one of the most important aspects that help you use the Internet. Learning to use a new Internet service may take a few hours, a few days, or some weeks, but it takes years to learn a language so that you can use it fluently and confidently. Of course when you know some English, you can learn more just by using it on the Internet. But at least your English should be good enough to understand commonly used words and to know what to do on the Internet.
1. Which of the following languages is considered the language of the Internet by many people?
A. Chinese	B. Japanese	C. English	D. French
2. According to the article by Michael Specter, what should you do to take full advantage of the Internet?

5.Which of the following titles is the most appropriate for the two passages?
A. Way to take full advantage of the Internet.	B. English and the Internet.
C. How to use Internet services.	D. Practising your English on the Internet.

Loved and admired by all who knew him, Tony Lazzeri became a victim of the passage of time. His marvelous achievements were known long before the advent of television, but it is only just recently that his name has been added to the Bay Area Sports Hall of Fame. Old-timers still insists that the 1927 Yankees were the best baseball team of all time. Besides Lazzeri, the famous names included Babe Ruth, Lou Gehrig, and Waite Hoyt. These are stories of how the opposing teams were reduced to jelly before the game even started, just by watching the Yankees take batting practice. He would call the signals for such maneuvers as the hit-and-run. He took baseball very seriously. Tony’s inauguration in to the Bay Area Sports Hall of Fame was post-humous since Tony died of a heart attack in 1946 when he was only 42.
