While-speaking : Task 1: Ask and answer questions( 10 mins) Task 2: Talk about the results of the Vietnamese athletes at the 14th Asian Games( 10 mins) III. Post-speaking : Role-play (5 mins) E. Warm-up: Crossword Do the following crossword puzzle: Across: 2. You kick a black and white ball 4. You need a racket and a net 5. You throw the ball into a net Down: 1. A sport you play in an ice rink 2. You need a glove and a bat 6. A winter sport Answer: - Students work in individual -Teacher sticks the poster on the board and gives instruction: “ Each row contains a word related to sports. Your duty is to listen to the information and find out what word it is” -Teacher reads the information and asks students to guess the words - Teacher leads to the new lesson : “ They are all sports in Asian Games and today, we will talk about this event with some more information” 30 mins 5 mins 10 mins 10 mins 5 mins C. Post-speaking Make an interview between an Sports commentator and some Vietnamese athletes winning medals in the 15th Asian Games in Qatar Cues: When and where, which sports, what medals, feeling, etc. Information: Karate: Nguyen Thi Hai Yen (Silver medal) Sepak takraw: Luu Thi Thanh (Gold medal) Bodybuilding: Ly Duc( Gold medal) Weightlifting: Hoang Anh Tuan (Silver medal) Billiard: Duong Anh Vu (Silver medal) Karate: Vu Thi Nguyet Anh (Gold medal) Taekwondo: Nguyen Thi Hoai Thu( Silver medal) - Students work in pairs -Teacher ticks these flags on the board and asks students to name the countries -Students answer and teacher gives positive feedback. -Teacher asks students about these countries: “ What do these countries remind you of” Expected answer: They were all the hosts of the Asian Games -Teacher leads to task 1 - Students work in pairs - Teacher asks students to close their books - Teacher sticks the poster of model dialogue on the board and lets students to practice this dialogue in chorus - Teacher puts students in pairs and gives one students Card A and the other Card B - In pairs, students will take turns to ask and answer questions about the Asian Games - Teacher calls some pairs to perform in front of the class and gives positive feedback -Students work in pairs to do their task - Teacher asks some groups to present in front of the class - Teacher gives positive feedback. - Students works in groups -Teacher asks students to work in group of 4 and gives some cues for students to make an interview - Students do their task and teacher goes around to offer help if necessary. - Teacher calls some groups to perform in front of the class. - Teacher gives positive feedback. 1 min D. Consolidation: - Students work in pairs to summarize the main point of the lesson -Teacher asks students whether there is anything they are not sure -Teacher responds 1 min E. Homework: - Talk about your idea about Vietnam’s achievements in one kind of sports which you really like - Prepare for the new lesson: Speaking - Teacher writes homework on the board - Students copy Evaluation :
