Textbook, lesson plan B- Procedure: Teacher’s activities Time Learners’ activities Organization: - T checks the attendance of the class and asks Ss to make some class arrangement. 1 min - The monitor reports the number of students. Ss on duty answer T’s questions II. Checking the old lesson: - T calls some Ss to talk about a kind of volunteer work to help people. - T gives comments and marks 5 mins - Go to the board and present - Listen and take notes III. New lesson: 1- Warm- up: play the game - T divides the class into 2 teams and guides them how to play a game. - Gives a Vietnamese meaning of words on the board. - After 3 minutes, T stops the game and checks the points each team gets - T leads Ss to the new lesson. 4 mins Play the game- Slap on the board - In turn, go to the board and hit the meaning of the word they hear - Listen to the T BEFORE YOU LISTEN - Asks Ss to read through the questions and choices and makes sure they understand them - Calls on Ss to report their answers - Gives the correct answers Vocabulary Pre- teaching T introduces some new words and pronounces them Fund- raising activities: Các hoạt động gây quỹ Donation (n): Tiền quyên góp Co-operate (v): Hợp tác Sponsor (n): Nhà tài trợ 7 mins - Read through the questions and discuss the abswers in pairs - Report the answers - copy the new words, listen to the teacher and repeat in chorus and individually WHILE YOU LISTEN Task 1 T explains the requirement of the task and guides - Plays the tape once for Ss to do the task. - Ask ss to compare their answers and write their answer on the board.( If Ss can’t do, T plays the tape one or two more times) - Gives correct answer 1. informal 2. 30 street children 3. 250 children 4. 1998 5. Volunteers, june 10 mins - read the sentences carefully and underline the key words to know what they need to listen to - Listen to carefully and complete the sentences then compare the answers in pairs - write the answers on the board - take notes Task 2 - Asks ss to read the questions carefully and try to answer from what they have listen in task 1 - Plays the tape for Ss to do the task - Gets Ss to work in pair to to checks their answers - calls on ss to give the answers and elicits feedback from other ss. ( If Ss can’t answer, T plays the tape again and pause at the answers for ss to catch) 12 mins - read the questions carefully underline the key words and try to answer from what remember in task 1. - Listen and do the task and check the answers in pair. - give feedback and copy the answers. After you listen - Gets Ss to work in groups to summarise the story about Spring School, using the suggestions. Calls on ss to present their summary Gives feedback 4 mins Work in groups to summarise the listening. - Present - Take notes IV- Consolidation: T summarise some main points of the lesson 1 min - Listen to the T V- Homework: T assigns homework 1 - Learn all the new work by heart .
