B. PROCEDURES

Organization - T checks the number of students and asks Sts to make some class arrangement. II. Checking the old lesson - T calls on one student to answer some questions. 1. Warm- up -T play the song “ Mua he xanh” and asks sts some questions to introduce the topic of the lesson. 1. What is the name of the song? 2. What is it about? 3. Have you joined a volunteer group? - T leads to the new lesson. 2. Before you read - T reads the poem and helps sts explain its meaning. - T shows the pictures and introduce the passage and asks some questions. - T pre-teaches some new words in the passage: + The aged: người già + To overcome: khắc phục + To participate: Tham gia + Remote: xa xôi 3. While you read * Setting the scene: You are going to read a passage about one of the volunteer work. While reading, do the tasks below. * Task 1: - T elicits different parts of speech of the word “ volunteer” on the board. - T instructs Sts to read the sentences in task 1 and identify the part of speech of the word to fill in the blank. - Checks and gives correct answers Keys: 1. voluntary 2. voluntarily 3. volunteers 4. volunteered * Task 2 - T asks sts how to do this task and may instruct them to use some strategies to do the task. - T asks sts to work individually to do the task. - T asks sts to exchange their answers to the others. - T calls on some sts to write their answers on the board and asks them to explain their choices. - T gives the correct answers.
