II. Checking the old lesson: - T calls 2 Ss to complete the following sentences using the suggested words and phrases: + All work/ and/ no play/ make/ Jack/ dull boy//. + The most common/ leisure activities/ home based//. - T asks Ss to give comments on the answers on the board. 5 mins - complete the sentences: + All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy. + The most common leisure activities are home based. III. New lesson: 1- Warm- up: - T divides the class into groups of 3 ,4 Ss and guides them how to play a game. - T delivers each S a questionaire to check their agreement and disagreement. (see the supplement) - T leads Ss to the new lesson. 4mins - listen to the T’s guide - receive the questionaire 2. Task 1: - T introduces the task and gets Ss to do it in pairs. - T calls on a S to read out his/ her answers. - T checks with the class and gives corrective feedback. - T may ask Ss to translate the available expressions into Vietnamese. 8mins - do the task - read out the answers - check and note down - translate Task 2: - T asks 1 student to read out the requirement of the task. - T explains more to make it clearer. - T asks Ss to work in pairs to read and practise the conversation. - T goes around, control, and help. - T calls on some pairs to practise the conversation. - T corrects Ss’ mispronunciation. 5mins - read out - listen - work in pairs. - practise - listen Task 3 + 4: - T asks 1 student to read out the requirement of the task. - T explains more about the requirement to make it clearer. - T gets Ss to work in groups to continue the discussion; expressing agreement and disagreement. In the meantime, T goes around to check and offers help. - T calls on some groups to perform their discussion in front of the class. - T elicits feedback from the class and gives final comments. 17mins - read the requirement - listen - work in pairs - perform their discussion - listen IV- Consolidation: T interviews Ss the following questions to check their comprehension: - Can you tell me some expressions of agreement as well as disagreement? ......................... 4mins - answer the T’s questions .............................. ...........
