3. Objectives
At the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to:
Listen to specific information.
Use the information and their background they have listened to talk about advantages and disadvantages of over-reading.
4. Anticipated problems
Students may not catch some information, so T should be ready to assist them.

Game: cross words
-Prepares cross words game.
-Divides the class into 4 big groups. Take turn, they choose a number and find out the words and key words to get points. 
Keyword: Book
Lead in: Asks Ss some questions?
1.Do you like books?
2.Do you often read books in your free time?
Today you are going to listen about a hobby of a student: that is reading books.
-Work in groups
-Discuss and find out key word.
-Answer T’s questions.
Pre-listening

-Asks Ss to brainstorm about the benefits of reading books in 2 minutes.
-Calls some students to share their ideas.
-Checks and gives feedbacks.
*Pre-teaching new words: 
-Elicits some new words to Ss.
+ bygone (adj ['baigɔn):past (quá khứ, đã qua) 
+ gigantic (adj) [dʒai'gæntik]:very big, very great (to lớn, vĩ đại) 
+ ignorant (adj) ['ignərənt]:lacking knowledge, unaware of sth (không biết, ngu dốt) 
+ to be fed up with: having reached the limits of tolerance or patience with somebody or something (chán ngấy) 
+ to cope with: face with (đối phó, đương đầu) 
+ jungle (n) ['dʒʌηgl]: tropical forest (rừng nhiệt đới)
-Helps Ss to pronounce these words.
-Calls some Ss to read again.
-Sets the scene: Now you are going to listen to a student talking about his hobby.
-Brainstorm in pairs.
-Share their ideas.
-Listen and take notes.
-Write the new words on notebooks.
-Pronounce new words with T.
-Read the words again.

*Task 1(Individual work)
Instruction: You are going to listen to the talk and decide whether the statements on page 150 are true (T) or false (F). 
– Before Ss listen and do the task, T asks them how to do the task. T might want to remind them of the strategies: 
+ Read through the statements to understand them and underline key words. 
+ Listen to the tape and pay attention to the key words.
+ Decide whether the statements are true or false based on what they can hear. 
–Plays the tape once for Ss to do the task. 
–Asks for Ss’ answers and writes them on the board. 
– Plays the tape the second time for Ss to check their answers. 
– Asks Ss to work in groups of 4 to compare their answers. 
– Checks Ss’ answers by calling on some Ss and asks Ss to explain their answers. 
– If there are a lot of Ss having the same wrong answer, play that point of the tape for Ss to check the answer again.
