Procedure Stage Time Teacher’s Activities Students’ Activities Warm-up (Group work) 8’ Guessing game -Divides the class into 4 big groups. Then each group nominates one representative to come to the board. -Gives Ss some cards on which write some activities doing in free times. -Asks Ss to mime these words without saying any words. Which group has more answers will be the winner. The activities: fishing, playing video games, listening to music, collecting stamps, swimming, reading books, chatting on phone, walking. Lead in: Asks Ss to share some ideas about their hobbies. What do you like doing in your free time? How much time do you spent on it? Today we are going to talk more about hobbies. In the first place, I'd like to help you with some new words. -Work in groups. -Come to the board and mime the action. -Guess the words. -Answer T’s questions. Task 1 (the whole class) 15’ Find someone who? -Gets Ss to work in pairs. -There are two cards: give each Ss one card and ask them to do the task as in handouts. -Calls some Ss to come to the board and report what they have shared. -Listens and gives feedbacks. -Work in pairs. -Go around the class and interview their friends. -Report what they have shared. -Listen and take notes. Task 2 (pair work) 10’ Instruction: Now work in pairs to practice the dialogue between Lan and Huong. – T asks the whole class to read the dialogue on page 149, the T can explain some words: + stall (n): small shop + tag (n): label to show the name of something (e.g. a book) – Models the dialogue with a good student. – Asks Ss to practice the dialogue in pairs. – T calls on some pairs to practice the dialogue in front of the class and gives feedback. -Listen and take notes. -Listen carefully to T’s model. -Practice in pairs. -Practice in front of class and listen to T’s feedbacks.
