B. PROCEDURES
Date of preparation: Period: 82 Unit 13: Hobbies Lesson 4: Writing A. Aims 1. Objectives : By the end of the lesson, sts will be able to write about their stamp collection or someone else. 2. Teaching aids: - blackboard, chalk, handouts - textbook, lesson plan B. Procedures Teacher’s activities Time Student’s activities I. Organization - T checks the number of students and asks Ss to make some class arrangement. II. Checking the old lesson - T calls on 1 student to talk about one of his/her hobbies. - T gives comments and mark. III. New lesson 1. Warm- up: - T gets sts to find words going with COLLECT. - The game continues until time is up 2. Preparing sts to write - T sets the scene: You are going to write about a stamp collection, using the provided guidelines. - T gets sts to read the task and the guidelines silently and work out what they are required to write about. - T gets sts to prepare an outline for their writing and exchange it with their friend. - T goes round to offer help and gives corrective feedback. 3. Writing - T gets sts to write about their collections in 15 minutes, using the outline above. - T goes round to observe and offer help. 4. Feedback on sts’ writing - T asks sts to exchange their writing with another student for peer correction. - T goes round and collects mistakes - T collects some writing for quick feedback. - T writes sts’ typical errors on the board and elicits sefl and peer correction. - T provides general comments on the writing. IV. Consolidation - T summarises the main points of the lesson. V. Homework - T asks sts to write a passage about 100 words about one of the people in their family and do the extra exercises in workbook. VI. Feedback 1. Good points 2.
