Objectives : By the end of the lesson, sts will be able to: - Use passive infinitives appropriately in contexts. - Use passive gerunds appropriately in contexts. 2. Organization - T checks the number of students and asks Ss to make some class arrangement. II. Checking the old lesson - T calls on one student to go to the board and asks some questions about him/her. - T gives comments and marks. III. New lesson 1. Grammar : a. Passive infinitive * Presentation - T writes some examples on the board and underline the form of the verb with “to be Vp2” Eg: :+ I hope to be considered again. + I want to be chosen the monitor. - T asks sts to give comment on the use of “to be Vp2”. - T reviews the verbs followed by “to be Vp2” in the examples quickly. Form: To be Vp2 Use: “Passive infinitive” is used in the same cases as infinitives. * Practice (handouts) b. Passive gerund - T writes some examples on the board and underline the “passive gerund” Eg: + I hate being made to wash clothes.. + She likes being chosen the monitor. - T asks sts to give comment on the use of “passive gerund” in these examples. - T reviews the verbs followed by “passive gerund” in the examples quickly. Form: Being Vp2 Use: Passive gerund is used in the same cases as active gerunds. * Practice (handouts) IV. Consolidation - T summarises the main points of the lesson. V. Homework - T asks sts to do the extra exercises in the workbook. VI. Feedback 1. Good points 2.
