Week : 20 Preparing date : 4/1/2009 Period : 59 Teaching date : 6/1/2009 Lesson 11 : I’m going to give a birthday party next Sunday Dialogue I.Objectives : By the end of the lesson sts will be able to : -know more some new words -practice the dialogues -ask and answer about birthday parties 1.Knowledge : -Language : be going to / have to -Vocabulary : ring , push , candle , take away , guest , honey 2.Skills : -Main-skills : speaking -Sub-skills : reading , writing , listening II.Methods and techniques : eliciting , explaining , guessing , asking and answering , T/F statements , pairwork , individual , groupwork III.Teaching aids : textbook , pictures , a birthday postcard , real objects ( candles ), poster IV.Procedure : Teacher’s & students’activities Content *Warm-up : -give a birthday postcard and some pictures of a birthday party and ask sts to guess what they are -elicit the new lesson *Presentation : -ask sts to look at the pictures in the book and guess the situation of the dialogues -elicit some new words and structures from sts -drill reading *Practice : +Activity 1 : -read the dialogues twice and ask sts to listen -let them practice the dialogues in pairs -call some pairs to practice before the class -ask the others to remark -correct if necessary +Activity 2 : -ask sts to close their book -stick the poster on the board and ask sts to do the task -ask sts to do in groups of five or six , check if the statements given are true or false and then call some sts from groups to give their groups’answer before the class -ask the others to remark -give feedback *Production : -ask some sts about their birthday : . When is your birthday ? / What is your date of birth ? ( It is on .) .What are you going to do ? They feel difficult to pronunce some words : push , ring , guest . Sts understand the contents of the dialogues well
