Play “ TAM SAO THAT BAN” game
Sentence 1: It was TOM that helped JERRY to rob many shops.
Sentence 2: It was TOM who helped JERRY to rob many shops
Practice stage: 
Exercise 1: Choose the word which contains sound / pt /, / ps /, / bd /, or / bz / in each sentence ( 6’) 
1. I found that she trapped me.
2. There are many English Clubs in this school.
3. It was a boy who robbed Lan’s handbag.
4. Perhaps it will, perhaps it won’t.

Exercise 2: To underline Cleft sentences in the passage ( 8’ )
It was a Monday morning that I could not forget. My girlfriend, Sushi dumped me. It was similar to the Monday morning that she and I loved each other 3 months ago. I remember that the first time I met her. There was a boy who robbed her handbag while I was looking at her. It was the boy who wore a black T-shirt with the words “Hip- Hop Clubs”. I stopped him and took the handbag back to Sushi. 
Exercise 3: Reorder the words to form a cleft sentence. ( 10’ )

Review Cleft Sentence : Subject focus, Object focus, Adverbial focus
Prepare new lesson, unit 14, reading
- ask Ss: do you know “TAM SAO THAT BAN” game?
- say that today we will play “ TAM SAO THAT BAN” game
- divide class into 2 groups, call 4 Ss in each group come up the board and arrange them to stand away from their partners
- instruct the rule of the game
- the first member in each group will be showed a sentence by T, he/she will read and remember quickly the sentence, then tell in whisper to the second one. Step by step, the last one will write the full sentence on the board, which group finish firstly and correctly is winner
- ask Ss to play honestly to check their memorizing
- stand in the end the class to observe Ss play game
- Time off, come to the board to check. 
- Congratulate the winner, ask the whole class offer a big clap 
- ask Ss to look at the sentence on the board, ask them to pronounce 2 words “ stopped” and “ shops”
- feedback and say : “ To check how do you pronounce these 4 sounds, we will do exercise 1
- give handouts and ask Ss what do we do in this exercise
- explain the requirement
- ask Ss to do this activity individually, and then share with their partner
- ask Ss to show their answers

- transform to exercise 2 by asking: “ Do you remember Cleft sentences structure?
- say: “ okay, to check whether you remember or not, we will move to Exercise 2.
