Date of preparation: Period: 34 Lesson 34: Tag questions A. Aims 1. Objectives : By the end of the lesson, sts will be able to: - Use the tag questions correctly and appropriately in contexts 2. Teaching aids: - blackboard, chalk, handouts - textbook, lesson plan B. Procedures Teacher’s activities Time Students’ activities I. Organization - T checks the number of students and asks Ss to make some class arrangement. II. Checking the old lesson - T calls on one student to go to the board and asks some questions about him/her. - T gives comments and marks. III. New lesson 1. Grammar : Tag questions - T sets the situation and explains through the two examples: Eg: 1. It is hot today, isn’t it? 2. She doesn’t like beer, does she? - T elicits the comments from sts and makes clear that: + positive clause, negative clause? +negative clause, positive clause? 2. Exercises: give sts some handouts and get them to do. (add the tags to complete the sentences) 1. These sausages are delicious, ......... . They certainly are. 2. You haven’t lived here long, ............? No. only three months. 3. It’s quite a big garden, ...........? yes, there is plenty of room. 4. There are not many people here yet, ..........? No, but it is till quite early. 5. You came in a sports car, ...........? That is right. 6. We can sit on the grass, ........? I think it is dry enough. ................................................................. ................................................................... IV. Consolidation - T summarizes the main points of the lesson by asking the questions. V.
