Objectives : By the end of the lesson, sts will be able to: - Remember the use of the relative pronouns and the omission of the relative pronouns when they functions as objects of the ordinary verbs. 2. Teaching aids: - blackboard, chalk, handouts - textbook, lesson plan B. Procedures Teacher’s activities Time Students’ activities I. Organization - T checks the number of students and asks Ss to make some class arrangement. II. Checking the old lesson - T calls on one student to go to the board and asks some questions about him/her. - T gives comments and marks. III. New lesson 1. Warm- up : Noughts and crosses - T divides the class into 2 groups, instructs them how to play the game. who boy where which that when what whom girl - T gets sts to play the game. - T declares the winner 2. Grammar : Omission of relative pronouns a. Presentation - T writes two pairs of examples about the relative clauses on the board and asks sts to comment on them. Eg: - We have a lot of work which we have to do today. - We have a lot of work we have to do today. - The man who I met at Lan’s party is very friendly. - The man I met at Lan’s party is very friendly. - T elicits the comments from sts and makes clear that: Chúng ta chỉ được phép lược bỏ ĐTQH khi nó giữ chức năng làm tân ngữ cho động từ trong mệnh đề quan hệ xác định. Ta không được lược bỏ khi nó giữ chức năng làm tân ngữ trong mệnh đề quan hệ không xác định. b. Practice - T gets sts to do some exercises in the workbook. - T gets sts to share their answers. - T checks and gives final comments. IV. Consolidation - T summarizes the main points of the lesson by asking the question. How many pronouns are there? What is the use of each? V.
