I. OBJECTIVES:
1. Educational aim: 
	by the end of the lesson, students will be interested in playing sports and finding information about the backgrounds of the famous athletes in our country and in the world and about sport events, especially the results of such sports events as the Asian Games.
2. Knowledge: 
a. General knowledge: by the end of the lesson, students will learn about a report of the Asian Games in which the results of the day are mentioned.
	b. Language: vocabulary related to the topic ‘The Asian Games’.
3. Skills: 
	- Extensive listening: multiple- choice questions
	- Comprehension questions
II. METHOD: Communicative Approach
III. TEACHING AIDS: a textbook, cassette tape and a cassette player.
IV. PROCEDURE:

 WARM-UP: Matching exercise
- Give Ss 8 pictures and ask Ss to work in groups to give names of the activities in the pictures.
- Call representatives of groups to give answers to check with the whole class. The group that has more correct answers in the shortest time will be the winner,

1. PRE- LISTENING:
- Ask Ss to work in groups to write down some benefits of reading books by asking them the following questions.
- Call some to give answers to share the class.
 Questions and suggested answers:

 Ss: ( The ansers may vary) novels, science fictions,
 detective stories / novels , comic (books) ,
 romance( tiÓu thuyết l·ng mạn , ....
 T: Why do you like reading books?

*** Vocabulary pre-teach: 
- Ask ss to listen and repeat the words given then call some to read aloud to check.
- Explain some new words

+ ignorant (adj) : lacking knowledge, unaware of sth 
 (kh«ng biÕt, ngu dèt)
+ to cope with = to face with
Eg: We have to face / cope with a lot of difficulties nowadays.
2. WHILE LISTENING:
a. TASK 1
 Instruction: You are going to listen to a talk and decide whether the statements on page 150 are true (T) or false (F) and put a tick in the appropriate box.
- Ask Ss to read the statements underline the key words.
- play the tape for Ss to listen and do the task.
- Ask for Ss' answers and write them on the board.
- Play the tape once more time for Ss to check their answers,
- Ask Ss to work in groups of four to compare their answers.
- Call some to explain their answers.
- Give correct answers:

B, TASK 2: 
 Instruction: You are going to listen to the passage again and fill in each blank with a word you hear.
- Check if Ss can do TASK 2 without listening to the tape again. If not, ask ss to read through the statements and identify the part of speech of the word to be filled in and if possible, predict the answers. 
- Play the tape again for Ss to listen and complete the passage.
- Get Ss to check the answers with a partner, then check with the whole class by playing the tape and pausing at the difficult points for Ss to listen and check.

- Divide the class into 4 large groups and get ss to discuss about the disadvantages of over-reading ( Reading too much)
