	CONJUNCTIONS
A/ Not only  but also được dùng như một cặp để nối hai thực thể giống nhau.
S + V + not only  +but (also) ...
Ex1: 	Tom is not only handsome but also talented.
	Mary plays not only the guitar but also the piano.
S + not only + V +but (also) + V
Ex 2: 	She not only plays violent but also composes music.
	He not only reads a newspaper but also listen to the radio everyday.
B/ Both and được dùng như một cặp để nối hai thực thể giống nhau.
S + V + both and
Ex 1: Tom is both talented and handsome.
S + both + V + and + V
Ex2: She both plays violin and composes music.
Note:
- Hai chủ ngữ được nối bởi both..and thì động từ luôn luôn chia ở số nhiều.
- Khi hai chủ ngữ được nối bởi not only.but also, either  or, neither nor thì động từ chia phù hợp với chủ ngữ gần nó nhất.
Example:
1/ Both the teacher and the student  here.
2/ Neither the teacher nor the student  here
3/ Not only the teacher but also the student  here.
4/ Not only the teacher but also the students  here
5/ Either the teacher or the student  here.
6/ Either the teacher or the students  here.
I/ Combine the following pair of sentences, using “both  and”, “neither nor”, or “either  or”.
1/ Tom was late. So was Ann.	
2/ He didn’t write. He didn’t telephone.	
3/ The hotel wasn’t clean. And it wasn’t comfortable.	
4/ It was a very boring film. It was very long, too.	
5/ Is that man’s name Richard? Or is it Robert?

Tag questions: Câu hỏi đuôi
Ex1: - Jack can come, can’t he?
Jack can’t come, can he?
A tag question là một câu hỏi được thêm vào cuối câu. Người nói dùng tag question chủ yếu để khẳng định thông tin của họ là đúng hoặc mong đợi sự đồng ý.
AFFIRMATIVE SENTENCES + NEGATIVE TAG
Mary is here, isn’t she?	à Yes, she is
You like tea, don’t you?	à Yes, I do 
They have left, haven’t they?	à Yes, they have
NEGATIVE SENTENCES + AFFIRMATIVE TAG
Mary isn’t here, is she?	à No, she isn’t

Ex2: - This/ That is your book, isn’t it?	The tag pronoun for this/that = it
 - These/ Those are yours, aren’t they?	The tag pronoun for these/those = they
Ex3: - Everything is okay, isn’t it?	
 - Everyone took the test, didn’t they?
They thường được dùng để thay cho: everyone,everybody,someone,somebody, no one, nobody.
