I. Warmer: Write the sentences from jumbled words.

II. Pronunciation.
* Listen and repeat.
 Practise reading aloud these sentences.
III. Grammar and vocabulary.
+ It is said that Dalat was discovered by Alexandre Yersin.
=> Dalat is said to have been discovered by Alexandre Yersin.

 * Exercise 1. Rewrite each of the following sentences in such a way that it means almost the same as the sentence printed before it.

* Note : We use “ to infinitive” if the verb is used in present simple or future simple tense.
+ We used “ to have + PP” if the verb is used in past simple tense.

IV. Writing. Write a biograghy of Mark Twain.
* Sample writing
 Mark Twain was known as one of the greatest American writers. His real name was Samuel Longhorn Clemens. He was born in Missouri in 1835. He grew up on the banks of the Mississippi River. He started writing during the civil war. He worked as a newspaperman in Nevada and california. In 1870, Mark Twain married Olivia Langdon. His wife had great influence on his books. Mark Twain was also a famous lecturer. He travelled around the country, giving talks on a variety of subjects. His best novels are “ The Adventures of Tom Sawyer” and “ Huckleberry Finn” and another novel “ Life on the Mississippi” which told of his adventures on the river boats of his era. His last novel was written in 1909. He died at the age of 75.
