I. OBJECTIVES

 Aims: Educate Ss to protect the environment in Vietnam and on the world.

 - Guides Ss to read the text.

 - Develop such reading micro-skill as scanning for special ideas and skimming for general information.

 - Use the information they have read to discuss and practice the tasks.

 * Lexical items: Words or phrases to related reading.

 * Skills: Reading for gist and for specific information.

II. METHOD: Integrated, mainly communication.

III. TEACHING AIDS: Cassette, tape, textbook, lesson plan.

1. Warm-up 
- Asks Ss to work in pairs to read these facts about endangered species and look at the picture discuss the questions.
1. What do you understand from the facts above?
2. Can you explain why the numbers of the animals have become small?
Warm-up 
- Listen and prepare.
- Answer freely.

2. Before you read 
- Gives Ss to read the new words and word phrases then explain the meaning.

- Asks Ss to read after the teacher some times.
- Asks Ss to make sentences with the above words to check their understanding at home.
- Asks Ss to read the word phrases careful to understand them.
- Calls some Ss to read the words and phrases
in front of the class.

3. While you read
Task 1
* Introduce: The words in the box all appear in the passage. Find each blank with a suitable word.( change the from of word and use the dictionary when necessary).
- Asks Ss to read the text carefully.
- Plays cassette and ask Ss to listen once time or twice times.
- Asks Ss to read the words in the box carefully to understand them then put the words on.
- Walks around the class to help when necessary.
- Asks them to compare their answers with friends 
- Calls Some Ss to read aloud their answers. 
- Gives corrected answer.
