 Time allotted: 45 minutes
 Aims: to help students practice speaking skill
Objectives: by the end of the lesson, the students will be able to:
know more about some kinds of hobby
talk about their hobby confidently
Lexical items: second-hand (adj), classify (v), category (n), organize (v), landscape (n)
Teaching aids: blackboard, textbook, posters, pictures, etc.
Procedure:
Warm-up: Miming Game(5’)
Teacher gives instruction: “First, I would like to divide class into two teams: team A and team B. The representatives of each team will in turn choose a piece of paper and try to express it to your group by using the body language, the rest of the team will guess what the word in the paper is. If your answer is correct, you will guess one mark, if your answer is wrong, another team will have right to answer. Which team has more correct answer will be the winner”.
WORDS: mountain-climbing, fishing, swimming, dancing, playing soccer, playing tennis. 
Teacher checks students’ understanding of instruction: 
+ “Who will explain the words??”
+ “How do you explain the words?”
+ “What happen if you guess the wrong answer?”
Give time for students to play the game.
Check students’ work and give feedback.
Lead-in: “Our lesson today is about Hobbies”
Pre-speaking:
Vocabulary: (7’)
Teacher elicits and presents new words:

Teacher draws on the blackboard: 
Teacher sets the situation: “This is Huong and this is Lan. They are talking about Lan’s hobby – collecting books”
Teacher shows the poster:
Huong: What is your hobby, Lan?
Lan: Well, I like collecting
Huong: How do you collect your ?
Lan: Well, whenever I find  which is interesting I buy it immediately.
Huong: Where do you buy your?
Lan: I buy some from  and some from . Sometimes, my relatives give me some.
Huong: How do you organize your collection?
Lan: I classify them into different categories and put on each category a name tag.
Huong: What do you plan to do next, Lan?
Lan: I’ll continue to make my collection richer and richer.
Ask students to guess the missing words
While-speaking:
Task 1: (8’)
Teacher elicits some kinds of hobby: collecting books, collecting stamps, collecting coins, collecting CDs, etc.
Ask students to practice the dialogue
Call 1 – 2 pairs to read aloud the dialogue
Give feedback
Task 2: Discussion (10’)
Ask students to work in pairs and discussion about their hobbies
Review some structures:
+ “What is your first hobby?”
+ “My first hobby is ”
+ “Why do you like it?”
+ “Because it is interesting/ useful/ good for my health/ 
	 makes me feel glad/ comfortable/ 	
Give time for students to do the task
Ask 1 – 2 pairs to perform their work
