Because Mt. Everest – the highest place on earth - has a lot of garbage now.
They need oxygen bottles when they climb to the height of more than 7,000 meters where there is not enough oxygen to breath in.
They need fuel canisters, oxygen bottles, batteries. Food and drinks for survival on the mountain.
The Sherpas pick up garbage put it in their backpacks and bring it down to the food of the mountain.
They collected more than garbage in 1998 than they had done in 1995.
The reason why they must leave the deposit is that if they leave their equipment on the mountain, they can not get back the deposit.
