Procedure:

Organization:
- T checks the number of students and asks Ss to make some class arrangement.

 - The monitor reports the number of students in his/her class to the teacher.
II. Checking the old lesson:
- T asks 2 Ss to complete the following sentences:
+ If/ I/ be/ you/ I/ would/ buy/ computer//?
+ Would/ you/ like/ have/ cold drink//.
+ .....................................
- T comments and gives marks

- complete the T’s sentences
- listen to the T’s remarks. 
III. New lesson: 
 1- Warm- up:
- T gets Ss to play a game.
- T divides the class into 2 teams and then asks each team to find as many words as possible ending with the letters [ts], [ds], [ched], [tSt], [d d].
- which team finds more words than the other will be the winner.
T leads Ss to the new lesson.

2. Pronunciation:
 - T demonstrates the clusters /ts/, /dz/, /tSt/, /d d/.by pronouncing them clearly and slowly.
- T reads aloud the words once or twice. 
- T asks Ss to pronounce and repeat the words several times. 
- T plays the tape and asks Ss to repeat.
- T calls on some Ss to repeat the clusters clearly to the class.
- T asks Ss to work in pairs and practise the sentences.
- T goes around the class and provides help if necessary.

1. Conjunctions
Not only ..... but also
Cỏc thực thể ở đằng sau hai thành ngữ này phải tương đương với nhau về mặt ngữ phỏp (N - N, adj - adj).

Robert is not only talented but also handsome.
He writes not only correctly but also neatly.
Thành phần sau but also thường quyết định thành phần sau not only.
Incorrect: He is not only famous in Italy but also in Switzerland. 
 Correct: He is famous not only in Italy but also in Switzerland.	
Both ..... and
Cụng thức dựng giống hệt như Not only .... but also.
Both chỉ được dựng với and, khụng được dựng với as well as.
Robert is both talented and handsome.
Paul both plays the piano and composes music.
Cỏch sử dụng cấu trỳc either...or (hoặc...hoặc) và neither...nor (khụng...mà cũng khụng)
Điều cần lưu ý nhất khi sử dụng cặp thành ngữ này là động từ sau đó phải chia theo danh từ sau or hoặc nor. Nếu danh từ đó là số ít thì động từ phải chia ở ngôi thứ 3 số ít và ngược lại.
 Neither nor
 + noun + singular noun +singular verb
 either or
Ví dụ:
Neither John nor Bill is going to the beach today.
 Singular noun singular verb
Either John or Bill is going to the beach today.
 Singular noun singular verb
 Neither nor
 + noun + plural noun + plural verb
 either or
Ví dụ:
Neither Maria nor her friends are going to class today.
 Plural plural
Lưu ý :
Khi chủ ngữ là 1 verbing thì động từ phải chia ở ngôi thứ 3 số ít.
2. Cleft sentences in the passive
T asks Ss to work individually doing exercise 1.
- T has Ss compare their answers with a friend.
- T calls on some Ss to give their answers.
- T feedbacks and gives correct answers:
(supplement).
T asks Ss to do exercise 2.
- T tells Ss to compare their answers with a friend.
