*) The present perfect tense is used to 
express an action that happened in the past
but whose time is not definite while the 
simple past tense is used to express an action that happened in the certain past time. It is uesd with adverbs of time like:
Yesterday, last(summer/year/week.), ten days ago, 2 years ago, in (winter/summer/
 1998)
