SUBJECT – VERB AGREEMENT

The subject and verb must agree in person and number.
EX: - My mother always gets up early.
	 	 - We go to school on time every day.
 S1 + and + S2
	 -> plural V
Both + S1 + and + S2

	EX: - You and I enjoy watching football games.
	 - Both Mr Pike and Mr Brown are engineers.
S1 + with + S2 -> V
 as well as

	EX: - Mr John with his children is on holidays.
	 - I think you as well as Jane are good.
Either	 or

Neither	 nor

	EX:- Either you or I am wrong.

Not only + S1 + but also + S2 -> V

Gerund phrase
	 + -> singular V
To infinitive phrase

S (noun ) + preposition phrase -> V
	9.
	EX: - The study of languages is interesting.
	 - Several theories on this subject have been proposed.
EXERCISE: Choose the correct form of the verbs in brackets:
